A visit to home.
Took a well deserved break from hectic life in Ontario. Managed a 3 day trip back to Alberta. Amazing weather, much warmer than it should be. This is a shot of Turtle mountain that my fiancee took while I was trying to cast through the 90 km/hr winds. No fish but it was a very needed re-connect to the land. I don't know how people can live without walking in a river ever so often. Maybe that explains some people...

End of a season
The summer was hot... mostly to hot to fish. Did do alot of amazing things. Went to a Canada Day Country concert. All day drinking beer listening to 9 live bands. The next morning Live 8 was on the agenda. Another day of drinking beer and listening to tunes. Went to the Scottish highland games in Fergus. Amazing time, loved the forge... in fact I loved the forge so much that it has been added to my list of hobbies to take up. Let's see, the metal working can go in between building a kayak and renovating the ranch house basement. Right beside Spey casting.Life may be improving for me... if only I could learn how to deal with the massive amounts of people... generally ignorant and inconsiderate people encountered in my daily life in Ontario. I miss the slower pace and genuine sincerity of rural life.
October roles around with out one last big trout fishing bang. The general trout season closed on October 1st, while I was out with the boys looking for a musky. The musky did not like my fly... in fact nothing on the Kawartha's liked my flies. I managed bluegill, pumpkinseed, and small bass off of the dock, but was otherwise skunked.
Last shot of the weekend, last bass released.
